Here are my go to Bible study essentials.

Most crucial yet unlisted: an open mind and a yearning heart.
Bible : Whatever version works best for you. Personally I have a NKJV version.
Study Bible: I use NIV version, but once again use what suits you.
Commentary Bible: This is new to me but I don't know how I was doing life without it before. This is a game changer! I personal use the Tony Evans commentary bible.
A journal: This is important so you can write down whatever downloads God has for you.
Pens/ Markers: Self explainary - This is to write. I use different colors for different things. I have a thing about not writing in my bible so I account for that with paper/pen or Ipad / pencil. But for those of you who do, This works for you as well. I would just suggest pens that don't bleed through the pages.
Book Tabs: This allows for easy exploration throughout the bible.
Bible Gateway App: I love this app. It was introduced to me by my spiritual father years ago and I am just now starting to use it. I have fell in love with it as it allows you to have access to multiple versions of the bible for diverse perspectives. It gives me the opportunity to see the Jewish translation of certain words without having to and purchase multiple bibles. The best part is its FREE!
ipad/ Goodnotes: Though unlisted, I am a digital person as well so while I love to handwrite my notes, I normally use my ipad and pencil to write in the app Goodnotes while studying. I carry the journal and pens with me throughout the day so that if God downloads something into my spirit, I can write it down.
Sidenote: There are several notetaking apps out there. If used many of them and was torn between Notability and Goodnotes. I ultimately decided on Goodnotes for several reasons.
a. Price
b. I am able to access over various platforms
c. I am able to share it with my family
d. I can use it for more than just notes. It can automatically make flashcards for me while studying other subjects.
I'll add links to my favorite things below. Many can be found on Amazon, feel free to pick them up and no, I don't get commission. I just don't like waiting long for my items so I use prime.
